Carl won the right to represent his school for the 7th grade at the regional spelling bee. He didn't win, but he did enjoy himself. The "pronouncer" was terrible, mispronouncing some basic words like "rupee" and "synopsis." The kids were great, she and the judges were terrible. However, Carl lost fair and square, mis-spelling "anchovy."
